Breathwork workshops with staff from Royal Surrey Hospital

The Wellbeing Volunteer team

Royal Surrey is a clinically led NHS trust, providing joined up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services.

With the relevant NHS qualification, I now offer staff at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford the opportunity to experience breathwork and discover its merits.

I’m part of the Wellbeing Volunteer team and run small group workshops for up to 8 members of staff.

Held in the Hospital's wellbeing cabin, breathwork is supporting those who want to feel re-energised and anxiety relieved in what can sometimes be, a highly stressful environment in which to work.

How breathwork can alleviate work-related issues

We focus initially on the importance of how and where attendees breathe.

We then shift focus to the body in general and consider how it will begin to suffer and break down if we continue to absorb trauma, emotion, stress or anxiety. This is followed by a short practice and then a longer breathe in line with my regular workshops.

These sessions are accessible via the wellness team within the Hospital. They're free due to my capacity as a volunteer and are available a couple of times a month to any member of staff within the Hospital .
